On Monday 10th June 2002 the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) held its AGM at their headquarters in Kensington Gore, London. At the AGM, medals and awards were given to 16 geographers from around the world for their services to geography. David, the author of GeoResources, received an award (sponsored by the Ordnance Survey) as 'Teacher of the Year 2002' for 'contributions to excellence in the teaching of geography at secondary level, and to raising the profile of the subject in schools.'
David was pleased and honoured to receive recognition of his work from such an important organisation and would like to thank all the students and teachers who use GeoResources and who have helped to make it such a success (over 400,000 page hits in May 2002 - the highest ever).
