All teachers are having to make greater use of ICT in their Geography lessons and in Geography coursework. The aim of the CD-Rom is provide a range of information and materials (in an easy to adapt format) that will help everyone make more efficient use of their ICT skills whether they are at the novice, intermediate or indeed, the expert level.
This new CD-Rom (which is exclusive to GeoResources) will contain the following information: a) ICT requirements for all GCSE and 'AS/A2' Geography specifications b) ICT Keyskills requirements plus ideas for FIVE Keyskills Geography Assignments c) An example Geography Department ICT Policy d) Ideas for using ICT in Geography lessons. The FIFTEEN ideas cover: using ICT in lessons in ICT rooms; using ICT in lessons in Geography rooms; using ICT with Geography homeworks; using ICT with fieldwork/coursework. e) Examples of internet website worksheets - worksheets will cover the following topics: Population; Farming; Ozone Layer; Volcanoes; Weather. The information on the CD-Rom is available in a mix of HTML format files which you can view offline with any internet browser, and WORD format files which you can edit to suit the needs of your own students and your own school. Cost: £15.00 plus postage (no VAT) per CD-Rom for unlimited users within the purchasing school/college. For only £5.00 extra you can order the ICT Plus version which contains in addition to the above: 200 copyright free geographical photos for use in worksheets, Powerpoint presentations, projects, etc. Five GeoResources case studies - no need to be online! Map outlines of countries and continents for use in lesson worksheets and homeworks A years worth of weather data in Excel format - study weather systems, correlate pressure and rainfall data, draw climate graphs, etc. If you are interested, please e-mail me with your contact details(e-mail address).
