This photo shows the view of the rooftops from the viewing platform on the Empire State Building. It was completed in May, 1931. The Empire State Building, at 1,250 feet (391 metres), was the tallest building in the world until the completion of the first tower of the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan in 1972.
