This photo shows a waterfall in the Canadian Rockies. Summer meltwater from the glaciers high in the mountains is flowing across a hard band of rock which has caused the waterfall. A gorge (narrow steep-sided valley) has formed to the right of the photo as the waterfall has retreated backwards.
