Geography logo Revision Topic: Rivers Photo 9
This photo shows a river in its middle section - it has developed a wide, flat-floored flood plain and the river moves downstream in a series of well developed meanders (it has a high sinuosity). The meanders show clear erosion on the outside bends and deposition on the inside bends. In times of flood, all the land in the centre of the photo would be covered by floodwater.
